Hi Guys,

I was wondering what your chosen method of attack is for shooting at high ISO ?

I use a D300 and I know that it must be capable of shooting over 1600 fairly comfortably?

What settings would your recommend for minimal noise and still retaining sharp images? (Bar the buy a D3 setting!)

:)

TBH anything over ISO 800 I find a tad noisy, I'd go up to ISO 1000 at a pinch...thats shooting hand-held with a 50mm AF-S f1.4G wide open.....
I never found it enough, thats one of the reasons I bought into FF.

I often prefer my high ISO jpgs over the processed RAWs of the same shot. Generally I have the camera set on increased contrast and saturation with medium ISO NR.

This is H.03 (ISO4000 equiv):

I've had it printed and it retains the look but IMO that high is really only for when you can't afford to miss the shot.
