Making the upgrade to FF soon, but the problem is I need something UWA for rig shots, and I can't afford a 17-40 at the moment/waiting and hoping they upgrade the 16-35. I have a Tamron 10-24 at the moment, tested it on a 35mm film body and down to about 13mm I can't see any real vignetting, but will it work on a 5D3? The lens is EF not EF-S so I'm guessing it will just with vignetting when wide?

Sorry, but I'm struggling to see how that makes sense. The 17-40 is about £600 and you can't afford it. The 16-35 is about £1200 and if Canon do decide to upgrade it then any replacement will be £2000+. How will that be affordable?

Why are you switching to full frame anyway?

Yes, exactly.

I'd make the funds available for a lens I knew I wouldn't replace. Don't really want an F4 lens or to spend that much on a lens that people don't rate that well.

Being able to use L glass at the lengths they were designed, better image quality, ISO handling etc

And thanks, thought it would, doubt I'll find anyone who's done it, but find out tomorrow I guess.

From what I'v heard its useable from about 13-14mm but the image quality at the boarders degrades quite a lot.

Just to update. Fine at 15mm, vignetting at 13mm. Centre is fairly sharp, edges quite soft and all are in need of correction. Still, cheap way to get wide on FF, and will do what I need it to for now. Nicely joins up with my 24-70 too.
