My father in law is interested in this lens, there are some reviews out there but I wondered if anyone here has this lens and could comment on it's quality and post some image examples

I think it is a great lens for the money, mine was about £45 from Ebay.

The top 2 pictures in my Flickr (water park) are using this lens.
 
Someone else asked about this lens a few months ago and I posted some photos. Probably the same ones I am posting today. I bought the lens new in early 2009 for use with my first dslr a Nikon D50. It was on offer at Jessops for £99. I was very pleased with it as long the light is good you are able to obtain some nice shots with it.

It's one of the best "value for money" lenses currently available imho.....build quality isn't up to much and the AF can hunt a little in low light (as can most cheap non f2.8 lenses) but IQ is way better then the price tag would suggest!

Seriously Joe, you can't go wrong for the money!! :thumbs:

Spot on in my experience. I prefer the IQ on my 55-200 to my 18-55mk1 by a mile.
