Have you read any reviews about this lens? Does anyone have it? Is it good?

I have it with my 40d... its lovely!! :D (very technical I am..........."lovely"! :D)

I've got 40D as well and I think about buying it. I also consider Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS. I like the idea of IS (it's probably helpful for this kind of lens) and the optic (according to reviews) is brilliant... just a bit more expensive...

btw say something more about it

well ok but is it good? :)

how would you compare it with canon 70-200 f/4 IS?

Looks like a viable alternative to the Sigma 70-200 and the Nikon 80-200mm.

Think it's being reviewed in the next Photography Monthly mag...

Toguko, I'd expect the Canon /4 IS would be a better lens for someone who's shooting a lot of low lght stuff, as you'll get and extra two stops or so out of the IS system, which would trump the f/2,8 aperture of the Tamron. Still, I think the Tamron is £650 and that's cheaper than the Canon.

you have to remember though, than an f4 with IS is not an f2.8 and never will be! The IS will help your steadiness with the lower shutter speed, but the subject will still blur the image!
