tamron lens from nikon to canon

Ive seen locally a tamron 200-500mm lens for sale good price

the thing is the advert says for nikon camera but my understanding is tamron lenes fit all and you change an adaptor ring

ive rung the sell and hes saying hes only ever used it on his nikon and it wont work on my canon and knows nothing about adaprtor rings ?

been quite a newbie did not push the point incase ive missunderstood my camera is an canon 450D

Most lenses now day's are made for the camera mount..;)
 
Tamron did indeed do something called the adaptall mount. My understanding was that the lenses had a tamron mount which didn't fit any camera. You then bought an adaptor which changed the tamron mount to your chosen camera mount. They've popped up in the classifieds occasionally.

This Nikon lens will not fit your Canon.
 
Tamron used to do adaptall lenses that fitted everything with the correct adapter ring. Now they make them with the specific mount, so they wont.

ill give it a miss shame as was a good price

will carry on looking for a good priced 100-400mm
