Tamron test

Picked up a Tamron 90mm at a really good price a few weeks ago, these were some of the test shots from a local butterfly house.

Hand Held, Sony a900 and flash

Just ordered my tamron for Sony - can't wait.

Can you tell me how close you were for the first 2 shots please and were you using diffused flash?

spartagates: I found f/9 gave me the best results inside with flash, may need to add a couple of stops if your crop sensor.

Azure: I was just off the edge of the feeding table so about 5" away I would say.

I think Tamron hit the bulls eye with the 90mm macro, I know guys with canon and nikon with the same glass and the results are all the same - they just love it.

Be warned - if your on full frame the DOF at 2.8 is killer - you may just get an eyelash or 2 in focus lol

I wouldnt use any f stop of less than f11- f2.8 is almost impossible to work with and always use a flash
