Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery

Worth a visit if anyone is thinking about it. I managed to pop in for an hour or so yesterday afternoon and I am really glad I did. About £3 I think. Just thought I would mention it on here incase anyone was thinking of going.

I usually try and go most years, I find it a bit if a mixed bunch but always worth a visit.

I am taking a school trip at the end of January - always worth going after we have explored 'what makes an effective portrait'!

What are people's thoughts on the winner?

I went a few weeks ago, as I do every year. It always seems to be such a mixed bag of some excellent photography, and frankly, some pretty dire stuff, IMHO.
I do think the winning image was a good choice though.

i have a ticket to the Bailey exhibition there in Feb so will pop next door to see this too. Looking forward to both.
