Testing D810 Milky way and maybe a galaxy

Hiya folks

Went out to test my new D810. It was still a bit light out and the clouds were fast approaching so couldn't stay out until proper dark.

Managed a few. But a question to the Astronomers.

Have I captured a galaxy.

Were you looking north west at the time ? If so it's our neighbour the great galaxy of andromeda.

A crop to see the resolving power would be nice

From where the sun appears to be it looks as if the shot is looking more or less West. At the time in your EXIF data, the Andromeda galaxy would be to the east of north, so I'm puzzled as to what you've captured, but good shot anyway.

Thats not the sun thats LP from Llandudno.

Yep I'd say looking North east'ish. It was taken at penmon point with the light house just out of shot to the left.
