Anyone else had a play with it?

Tried it a couple of days ago and it worked instantly with no issues whatsoever!

Bought a 5 metre mini USB to USB lead for £3.49+49p extra for 1st class from HERE and it arrived next day.

Been having a play and it is brilliant. Shooting straight into you library and seeing the image full size on screen.

Yeah I have fired off a few shots. Seems nice, no control over the camera apart from firing the shutter as far as I can see.

Doubt I will ever use it, but nice to know it is there just in case.

Have the demo, had a quick play and liked, am in the Studio tomorrow afternoon, they have just upgraded, so will be having a proper play with tethered tomorrow, can see it being very handy :D

Do you need the Nikon remote control software or does it just plug in and go with LR3?

This is just what I am after, but I dont want to pay the daft prices that Nikon want....

I use Canon, but didn't need any other software, Lightroom did it all :D

Can you run LR3 on 2 PCs with one licence? I have a desktop and laptop and would like it on both......

You don't need any other software at all JUST lightroom.

You can control the camera with all the normal controls just like would would BUT when you press the shutter the picture appears on screen and in Lightroom 3.

I think it is marvelous :) Used it yesterday whilst messing in order to take the shots of Wheels' camera assembly.

tried that but cant get the preview to show.....LR3 works perfectly though...

I had issues getting Nikon Camera control to work till I swapped the setting in USB from Mass Storage to MTP/PTP Was a royal PITA till I found it on a forum :) Lightroom works too now

well phyced, I tether a lot with eos utility and this will save me a step in setup and hopefully be easier to put back when it falls over

the setting in USB from Mass Storage to MTP/PTP

cant find that setting even in the manual, can you advise where it is please?

On My d300 it's in the Setup menu and it's just labelled USB Not sure about your D90  can anyone else help out?

Found this it may help you linky One thing to try I have issues with some mini usb leads connecting then others are fine. Try switching it over with a different lead it maybe would work then :)

cheers, d90 defaults to ptp and cannot be altered. Works great on LR3, but I'd rather not pay the price! Will try another lead, I have had this problem recently and just chucked a lead that didnt work properly.......

I believe that some mini usb leads could be wired differently  Maybe someone could put my mind at rest as there is not a lot that could go wrong with them after all.

I posted a link to a 5m lead

Just gave this a try with the EOS450D - works like a charm. Pity it doesn't have the focus pulling and settings tweaking etc that EOS Utilitys remote shooting does, but it does work well.
