Hello,
I recently changed my camera a Canon 6d which i use primarily for scanning film negatives. I use Lightroom to tether the camera which is fine except that if I try to use live view to focus the first negative l get the message live view disabled. I only get this with the 6d it is OK with my old 40d.
I collect old cameras and use this 6d to scan the negs.
Hope you can help thank you

I think Lightroom is a pig for tethering and prefer Capture One. (y)

I'm sorry I can't offer any advice on your problem, but I'm sure someone on here will be able to . . .

By "live view" do you mean the screen on the back of the camera? Are you focusing manually?

It is the latest versionof lightroom, the live view I refer to is the live view on the tether bar, l can still focus manually through the viewfinder but sometimes use live view to focus using the image on the screen. I've just started using the 6d, the 40d I used before will let me use it.
I got the 6d to give more resolution in every other respect it's fine. I have been considering capture one but apart from this little niggle lightroom it is all I need.

Use EOS Utilities to tether into a Live Watch folder for LT to import.

You can control the camera remotely using the utility.

Thankyou, it is an option but have always used LR and am reluctant to change.
