Lawrie this will probably make you laugh... 
Went into Jessops today to look at the finepix S1900... liked it, so we were waiting for a shop assistant to be free, but during those 20 minutes, i had a go on the other finepix bridge cameras they had on display... S2700HD... nice, but didnt seem worth the extra 50 quid just for 2 extra pixels and HD video....
The HS10 however... now that was just in a different league... OH had a go and even he liked it! Twisty zoom, 30x zoom, higher shutter speed, better build quality... I fell in love...
Didnt expect to get it, I had £130 to spend.... Assistant came over, asked what one we wanted, and OH pointed to the HS10!!
So thanks to OH and the invention of credit cards, rather than walking away with the S1900 I originally went in for... Im now sitting at home with a shiny new HS10
