Critique The 3 Ammigos

Lovely pooches! Shame you couldn't have gotten a little more separation though. Composite I assume?
 
Yep. 3 shots put together. If I can I plan to retake the picture. The dog on the right is very ill and may be put down tomorrow depending on the outcome of the tests. Did this with what knowledge and equipment I had. If he is well enough what would you recommend doing different. Want a memory of him and the other 2. I have got another flash and soft boxes now. I hope that will allow me to make them stand out a little more.
