Shot this at Christmas in a local Garden center, I am not sure about the colour balance or if its got enough contrast. C+C please.

A very colourful character :D

It looks underexposed to me, I would also blur the background and give it a sharpen (y)
 
thanks betty, I will give it another go, need to get my photoshop skills better, how do you blur the background?
 
The way I do it, is use a Gaussian Blur across the image, then use the History Brush tool to go over the subject, leaving the background blurred :)

There may be an easier method that I don't know about though?

Nice picture! It has a lot of character, but needs brightening up a bit.
 
Starrider that looks better to me too looks less muddy and more defined.I really do need to spend some time finding out what can be done in photoshop and how to do it.
