Took a trip to the Settle & Carlisle line on Friday to see 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" put on a fine show with "The Cumbrian Mountain Express". ;)

I must say there are some crackers in your gallery, really nice to see you've got them working hard.

I love the composition and framing ,Stuart.
That is a fabulous Engine.
My only thought would be that an ND filter might have brought out more of the Sky definition and colour that I can see there.
Picture postcard that one.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
There's a few mainline tours on the S & C this year, I really must make the effort to go and see a few:)
Saw Cromwell at the East Lancs the other week, it's a super looking engine, nice to see it working hard here.
"Cromwell" is working a double header with 48151 on Saturday not a million miles from you. LINK

I'd like a go at that!....would colton junction make a good vantage point?
Colton junction is very popular (crowded), however if the sun was out you would be shooting straight into it. For the outward trip you could try HERE off the bridge, which would give you THIS shot.

For the return journey try HERE, it's public access, nature trust or something.

Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing your shots.
