Well its been a long journey............

I first visited the studio in Staveley many years ago as a fresh faced 18 year old model, I am now 35 so that was a long, long time ago, I am not exactly sure it was that long ago but it was a long time, when I was less grey and a little more handsome !

One thing I always found was the fun and laughter that was going on, always seemed to be a good craic, always wanted a bit of that :)

I was looking through some of my 'payment shots' the other night and some names, like Damien Lovegrove, Tina Hadley, Philip Stewart, Mike Leng have taken my photographs back in the day, I have just googled them to see what happens, all seem to be doing well !

So, thats my background with the Studio, I have always had an interest, perhaps a passion in Photography but over the last couple of years it has become more than that, it a habit, I am always striving to become better and as such have sought out ways to improve, from reading and participating in forums, spending many, many pounds on books and of course getting out there with the camera.

Well a seminar took my eye 'The Digital Workshop' so off I went, back to school, I love learning but I have always hated been taught so I was hoping that it would be the relaxed atmosphere I remembered from all those years ago being a model.............

Maybe I was just to excited, allowing 40 minutes for a 2.5 / 3 mile journey in the Lake District was a bit daft but I had paid alot of money for this and damn was I going to enjoy it !

I wasn't dissapointed, in fact a little overwhelmed at the welcome, it was great to be back, I felt at home for some bizzare reason, some more delegates arrived and introductions were made.

Now this was not a photographic course, this was about the digital darkroom, more to the point Lightroom2 and my Lordy was it good, our tutor for the day was a very nice chap called Stewart Randall, a former graduate of the Bespoke programme and he knew his stuff, better than that though he knew it well enough to teach me, as someone who only used i-photo and then into CS3, being taught about an application you had never seen was always going to be tough, he pulled it off though and I am some where there with the app now, after downloading the free trial when I had undertaken the massive drive home, haha !

Kirsty was our model for the day and she was brilliant, stunning and such good fun, weather was amazing, lunch was awesome, coffee was good, didn't try the tea, notes were made and course notes were provided....................

I have only gone and sold my van, looks like Bespoke is coming my way.

I have read good, very good, superb, awesome and those that have never been reviews on forums over the years. In reality and from my recent personal experience the course I went on was very good value for money, in fact excellent value.

If you have been sat on the fence jump off it, head North and learn to love learning again !

This may sound like I have recently been employed by the Annabel Williams Studio to promote them, well I ain't, just credit where it is due, in fact that last visit is going to cost me a serious amount of cash over the next year - bring it on, I can't bloody wait !

Massive thanks to Mel for getting me booked in and mopping my brow when parting with cash, Ali for being on hand all day and Stewart Randall for his brilliant approach to all levels of experience in the room.

Top stuff guys, you deserve all the accolades, you run an awesome experience, can't wait to do my Bespoke !

Edited to add: Not sure I can post the shots that we did take on a forum, they are allowed on my portfolio site though and that is where they are, see my site in my Sig.

Sounds like you had a great time.

Unusually I have a bit of time available now and have been thinking of doing a photographic course (1 or 2 days) of some sort. Ideally it would be good to find something comparatively local (South East), can someone point me in the right direction to find a list of good quality courses?
