is right it's not a barn owl. I think it's a European eagle owl.

thanks for the comments, I did wonder if I had the names right. The little owl was just sat on a fence and was happy for my 2 year old to walk up at stroke it.

hi Chas, cant remember where it was, visited so many places, it is right next to a steam railway that also runs passed a otter place. sorry I will see if I can remember any more. must remember to take photo of placenames as ref or at least the brochure.
