A few years ago now I wanted a cheapo pocket digital and I picked a Medion from Woolies for someone to buy me for Christmas. It cost just under £50 but towards the end of it's production run the Medion shop had them on offer for £10 or so.

It's a small metal camera with built in flash and a display but no viewfinder, it has a fixed focus lens and uses aperture priority. It takes still and video and runs off 2 AAA batteries. There's sometimes a bit of a colour cast in shots and it can't really cope when shooting into the sun but I've had great fun with it and taken some shots that I'll keep forever. I was looking at some A5 and A4 prints today and I was astonished how good they are (to me) when printed out.

Has anyone else got any cheapo kit they're particularly happy with?

I bought a cheap underwater camera from Aldi a few months ago for my holiday. I thought any pictures are better than no pictures and took it into the water with me a few times. Pictures are very impressive, for what it is. It doesn't have manual control and its not great in low light or when using the flash but when underwater, which is its main use, the pictures are fine and it even managed video underwater with sound!

For £80 its a bargain IMO and I will be taking it with me on my next snorkelling trip.
 
I forgot to mention that it gives a little distortion which might just be visible in the clock shot. It doesn't affect shots without architecture though and I've taken some people shots on days out that look great when printed.

I also have one of those digital keyring cameras and although it's frankly terrible (wayyyy too much lomo...) it was worth the £10 for the enjoyment it gave and I did manage to take a couple of keepers with it.

An underwater camera does sound fun.
 
Lomo made cheapo plastic cameras that gave variable results, other cheapo cameras gave similar results too.

There's a big following for these, Google Lomo or Lomography and you will see, you'll also see some striking pictures.

Not sure if this counts, but my Yongnuo RF602 wireless triggers are amazing for the price. I think a kit of 1 transmitter and 3 receivers cost me about £40 or something.
