The Lake District

I have an empty day tomorrow and I would like to fill it with a trip to the lake district, Im not that well up on the area though,

Any scenic places or the like would be very helpfull

Personally I find the area around Keswick the best, most of the largest mountains are close by - Buttermere in particular is a great location

As Simon said anywhere around the Keswick area is very nice - I like it around Grasmere and the Langdale area

I went to the Lake District just the other week. Great scenery for sure. I looked up a few places before went and had a list which I got through but stopped off anywhere that looked nice and other places we found out about from leaflets we got there.

not good weather up here tomorrow, but Penrith towards ullswater follow that to kirkstone pass, over top of that turn right towards ambleside via struggle, to bottom turn right towards, rydal grasmere then thirlmere on towards derwent keswick and back towards Penrith.

that should cover from 06.30 to dusk at around 19.00, plenty to piccy following that route
