For widefield stuff, such as Dal posted (nicely done there)... have a look at http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=104518. For the Galaxy I posted.. that's 35 Million light years away... you need a telescope on a tracking mount that can track the sky and prevent the movement showing in the image. If you can use guiding (second scope, second camera, computer etc etc ) then you can get more details in the image.
