Just a Starling but I quite liked the post of the bird.
7D + 300/2.8 + 1.4tc handheld. 1/800 sec f5.6 ISO 400 manual metering - fairly heavy crop.

No, he did not see me. He was in a party of half a dozen birds and was looking at the others. When you startled birds they look in your direction in my experience.
