The Old Man of Hoy from the seaward side

Another from the Scrabster/Stromness ferry. I like this a bit because it was a great day but I'm not sure why I cant seem to get a really sharp shot with landscapes. Any ideas?

Can't answer the question on sharpness. Can say that the composition and colours are top quality. I think you might tweak the levels and see if the paleness will go away.

Part of the sharpness issue could be haze that can make distant objects seem quite soft. I also gave the image a quick tweak with levels and hue/saturation/lightness and a mild sharpen to boost the flatness.

the edited image of the old man the stone colour is more like its true colour.

Maybe a touch over saturated in the edit, but it gives the idea for sure
