Many camera reviewers are getting paid to review a camera. I suspect they feel they need to say something negative to make it feel impartial. But the underlying fact is, the more reviews they cram in, regardless of review quality, the more they get paid.
As said before, it's all about expectations, or what they are comparing it too
If reviewer A shoots with a Nikon D5 all day everyday, they won't review an entry level D3300 too favourably
I much prefer to look for comparative reviews, as they give a clearer picture as to the pro's/con's of each camera/lens compared to it's nearest rivals
