Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy this camera. Is there something better that I can go for at similar price? I've read that there is a lot of noise with this model?!

Any info and recommended lenses welcome (portraits/lighting (corners of old rooms, etc)

Thanks so much for any info!

in particular from the article
Image Quality — There’s not much point in my posting my usual basketball images, or any image from the D3300 versus that of the other 24mp Nikon DX DSLRs, for that matter. Even pixel peeping I’m having a tough time seeing anything different in a D3300 image versus a D7100 image, for example. If anything, boosting shadows by large amounts doesn’t tend to reveal banding nearly as fast as my D5300, and then only faintly.

Nikon's handle noise very well, and the D3300 is no exception. As for anything better for the price, not really if you're buying new but of course you could probably get something better that's used.

I have been thinking about one of these as a lightweight set-up when I don't want to carry the D750. Been looking at compacts like the Fuji X30 etc.....and for value, the Nikon is coming out tops IMO with the extra £20.00 cashback. I have had the X20, XF1 along with the D7000 & D7100 so looking at Thoms review above posted by Chris the D3300 should perform very well over some of the compacts I have been looking at.
