I am looking at getting a grip for my D300. Sadly at this point in time I cannot justify the official item so I am looking at the 3rd party range.

There seem to be 2 main brands on a famous auction site for this application at the moment.

Phottix Premium:

Link Delights:
Link Delights

Does anyone have any experience with either?
Will either enable me to up the shutter to 8fps or will they require me to purchase more batteries?

Thank you in advance!

There was a thread a couple of days ago, quite a few of us have the link delight version with no issues.

My apologies, I could not find it when I went browsing.

Does the link delight one give you the ability to up the FPS out of the box so to speak? Or would you have to use it with extra batteries like AA's or another one?

FWIW, I had a bit of trouble in getting a Canon grip which I'd ordered from Ettefore.
Overall the problem lay with the global postal service which, inexplicably, took well over a month to get my item to me. It took a lot of effort on my part to encourage the vendor to issue a replacement, hampered partly by the time difference between HK and UK giving me only a small daily wijndow in which to transact by email.

The original eventually arrived in perfect order and is giving perfect service. The replacement arrived in a matter of days (and was immediately returned acting on the vendor's instructions.)

The moral of the story? Don't be deterred by aftermarket brands, don't be put off from dealing with reputable online traders with high transaction counts and positive feedback results. Do be aware of possible delays in the global postal system and be aware of the vendor's policies on dealing with shipping problems.

It does give you the ability to shoot high FPS but you need a high capacity battery, I just use the normal ones. I think AA batteries might give you high FPS.
