Taken on a mix of Olympus OMD 5 with 40-150 Pro and Canon 1D with 100-400mm L lens. Another sunny day plus met another forum user, Hadge which was really nice.

I'm sorry to say I have to agree with Mike, unless you're going for an art type shot 1/320 is slow enough to give sharp pictures and motion blur when panning bikes

For the real arty stuff you need to use "whip panning"

Thanks for the input and thanks wack61 it is something I am going to try next been down around the 1/200 mark so need to push up the speed

You increase the speed of the panning action just before the shutter closes. The result is a sharp bike/car with a blurred steak behind it.
