I thought I'd missed this, but found out just in time. As I was heading up the M6 I decided it would be rude not to drop in for an hour or two. Not many pictures of the sprint as soon after I got there they had a break and did the cavalcade. A nice event though, and totally free, which is always nice...

i went last year, it was a good day out but it wasnt great for photography as the catch fencing was all encompassing!

The fencing is disappointing, I agree. In 2005 (I missed 2006) I was on the track but only had my old Fuji S5000. Got some 'ok' shots, and it was certainly better than being outside the fence.

This year as I said I didn't see much of the actual sprint, and stuck mainly to the paddock area. I'd just driven back from Coventry and was shattered, so I had to get going after a couple of hours. I'm determined that next year I'm going to make a day of it and see as much as possible.

if they removed the fencing on the straights and left the stuff on the corners it wouldnt alter the safety of the event and make it much nicer for spectators, it is however nice to get close to some nice old bikes though

Yes, I agree, and then they could just have standard waist-high barriers on the rest of it.
