What is it? I'm just getting to grip with my first D-SLR so am nowhere near anything like that but I keep hearing the term getting bandied about and it seems interesting, I saw some time lapse photos the other day in a newspaper article (it may have even been on here actually!) and they were stunning!

Basically a set of shots taken over a period of time when played back will give the impression of it being speeded up, it can show you what takes hours or sometimes months to happen in only a few seconds.

Phew... hope that makes sense ha ha :)

Perfectly summed up really. It does what it says, it is photos that show time elapsing :) It is reasonably easy to do, but VERY hard to perfect.

Thanks glad it made sense, have been having a go myself recently must practise more

google intervalometer you can buy one quite cheaply on amazon or ebay. Use it to set your camera to take a series of photos (total number, gap between each shot etc) then you can make them into a movie clip in windows move maker and add music if you like.
