Trying out the 50mm i got recently. Also trying to put into practice the sharp eyes i have heard lots about, but rarely seem to pull off.
This is Toby, he's an old 'un at 15yrs, but still manages to look fairly hip.
Any c&c much appreciated
Cheers

You've got his closest eye in focus but your DoF is so shallow (approx 1cm) so the furthest isnt. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, you just need to stop down your aperture a bit if you want both in focus. I think your accuracy is good in these shots considering the DoF.

The second pic is my favorite, purely because of Toby's expression, but the composition is off i think, to the side is good but he needs to be facing the empty part of the frame, cropping the right side would leave it a bit tight i think.

He's a well 'andsome cat btw ;)

Hi, and thanks for the comments.
I was trying out my new 50mm at f2 (just because i could) it definately seems a bit shallow, I agree, it would look better with both eyes in focus, would i need to change the f2 up much to get a deeper dof, what would you recommend for shooting portraits like this?
