Tokina 10-17 vs 12-24 - which is best ?

I am in the market for new wide angle lens for landscapes, buildings etc.

Looking at stuff the Tokina 12-24mm f4 AT-X Pro DX comes highly recommended, however I already have an 18-55 Nikon so I could choose the Tokina 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 AT-X 107 DX.

Question is
"Is the quality of the 10-17 lens and its performance a match for 12-24" ?

Anyone got any thoughts on that ?

I have the 12-24 and love it, probably say it's my favorite lens. Sharp as and little distortion and feels better made then any of my sigma lenses. Sorry can't help with the 10-17.

I am not sure why you would want the tokina 10-17 fish eye lens for landscapes

BUT the tokina 12-24 is a Fantastic lens especially on the d300 which deals with the lenses only weakness (CAS) far better image quality than those nasty sigma wide zooms especially the crappy sigma 10-20.
