I've just won an ebay auction for a Tokina 70-210 f3.5 lens with an OM mount. It's set me back £17.00

Can't locate any information on the thing - so I wondered if anyone has had any experience of it and could give me some ideas of what to expect in terms of wieght, quality, sharpness and so on.

I believe these may also have been badged as Vivitar at some point - but this comes from a none to reliable source!!
 
I think I had this one for my OM-10. It was fairly neat and light and produced nice images, I did only use it for about 8 shots though so not an exhaustive consumer test.

That sounds cool - I'm hoping it'll be here today or tomorrow so I can get on and have a play. I'll report back with my thoughts on it.
 
The Tamron equivalent is highly regarded, but bloomin' heavy.

Tokina was formed by breakaway designers/engineers from Nikon, but there's always collaboration going on. Nowadays it's Pentax with Tokina; Sony holding a big stake in Tamron; Tamron making for Nikon...
