Tokina RMC 135mm possible fault...

I currently own only an old film SLR, namely the Olympus OM-10. Its quite old but still works flawlessly.

The problem I have is with a lens that I bought with the camera, all those years ago. It is a Tokina RMC 135mm 1:2.8 lens. The problem that I have with this lens is that, whenever I connect it to the camera body, it 'seems' to click into place, but it never allows the shutter to work; the shutter stays down and only "fires" when I begin removing the lens - resulting in a very bad shot. (which is a shame as its film, and I have to burn through 24 shots before developing...)

Can anyone advise me on what I could do to rectify this problem? Thanks

That could be the cause. As soon as I start turning the lens to remove it the camera "fires" the shot. It doesnt happen with any other of my lenses that I have, so I know it is to do with this lens only.

Recap: When I connect the lens it seems to connect fine, it isn't loose or anything. However when I press the shutter to take the shot, the shutter remains down but no shot is fired, and when I press the release and start turning the lens to remove it, the shot fires.
