After buying on eBay and the whole deal going wrong, not receiving the item and having to take out a PayPal dispute..lets just say I won't be using eBay for expensive items again!

I bought the following today from Jessops:

Nikon D3000 Kit - inc. 18-55mm VR Lens.
Tamron 70-300mm Lens
SanDisk Ultra 4GB SD Card
40 free prints
Jessops 3 year Print Plus Protection Plan.

Got the above for £486.10! A saving of £104.90 on the normal store prices :) Managed to haggle a bit, including the normal Tamron offer of £50 off - so effectively got the Protection Plan for £7.10!

Bargain I thought :) Anyhow, have been playing about with the camera in the garden and indoors today - and have found it hard to put down! I recommend the camera hugely!

Haven't tested the lens yet though; as the store has to order it in for me - so should be available to pick-up in a couple of days :)

Can't wait to get out and about togging now!

Sounds like you had fun with Ebay - glad to hear you got sorted.

Jessops, although much maligned, seem to do some cracking deals for camera bodies, kits and bundles - it is just the extras that they seem to be overpriced on. I got my D40 kit from Jessops and they were by far the cheapest at the time.
