What's considered 'polite' in terms of TP Etiquette ?

If I start a thread (whether it be with images or conversation) I'd like to think that I maintain that thread and although I may not respond to every single reply individually - I would aim to reply till it ran it's course.

That said - I sometimes feel a bit ashamed to bump my thread by making a reply (which I feel I should) to a comment somebody makes long after the thread became quiet.

On the flip side - One takes time to reply to somebody elses thread but when catching up - they haven't revisited their own post to check what people have said in return.

So what's the done thing ?

Well I don't know about anyone else but I thank everyone who takes time to comment on my post/image.
Most of the time I will attempt a multi-qoute response, but that depends on how often I am on and how often people are commenting.
It could be deemed as shameless bumping, but I would like to think that the gratitude would outshine anyone's mis-aligned thoughts on what your intentions are.

Anyway, I'm away to do some shameless bumpage :D

First thing i check when i log on is responses to my own threads and respond accordingly, thats just good manners, now would someone please tell me how to do multiple quotes, it would come in very handy on my 52 thread

Nex to the quote button in the bottom right of a post you will see a square icon with inverted comma's and a + sign.
Click that first on the posts you want to multi-quote then hit the quote button last.

Liz, click the quote thing to open in a new tab for whatever you want to quote & copy & paste all into one box thingy, that's how I've been doing it.

As far as the manners thing goes, just be nice :D

As far as I'm concerned, it's good manners to reply to people who take the trouble to respond to your posts, whether you agree with them or not. I don't always do this individually either, but I do try to post something acknowledging and thanking everyone at some point.

I have seen quite a few posts - often started by new members - asking for advice, or offering an opinion, and the poster never returns to the thread. Sometimes there's no apparent reason, and I assume they couldn't be bothered - because they'd got what they were looking for or just lost interest - but I've also seen threads where the responses were 'robust' to the point of being rude, or going in a direction the OP probably wasn't comfortable with. It's an internet forum, and it happens.

Thought I'd better reply !

Thanks - seems like people think the same way.

Just don't start a wedding thread!
