Transfering Images to Mac Via D700

Hi

For some reason I cant transfer images straight from my Nikon D700 to my mac via the lead, when I plug it in and then turn camera on it should bring up a box saying D700 under it but it dont seem to do anything at all? It works fine with my D300 and at the moment im having to put the memory card from D700 into D300 and put them on through the D300.

Anyone have any Ideas?

I have a D2x so it may be different but try this;

go menu then have a look for a connectivity/USB option. Set it to mass storage rather than PTP - did the trick on my D2x when i had the same problem....

Thanks, I cant seem to find it in menu, where would I find this in menu?

Seems the D700 doesn't support USB connectivity without using the accompanying Nikon Transfer software. I find it a bit crazy though, seeing as all my other cameras have used USB quite fine...

I'd just check the manual to see if I were you

Thanks Specialman thats great info. Looks like I will have to get my card reader out and use it for the first time! lol Always used to just let it mount to desktop and dragg folder out and rename it.

card reader Vs camera via USB.... I don't think there's much in it speed-wise. Both are good
