Took these two shots which do we prefer please feel free to comment thanks.

The second one looks better but it is way under exposed on most of the scene just to stop the sun itself being burned out more than it is. Might have worked better as a blend of 2 exposures edited together?

I agree. Could also benefit with some grad filter work in Lightroom or Photoshop to lighten the snow. Ideally snow should look as white as possible, not grey. But I think that the sun looks fine.
