What do you want to spend - the 2 tripods you've listed are £35 and £99 - I would say you need to buy the best tripod you can get for your maximum budget, so decided on your maximum budget.

I picked up a Manfrotto tripod and head from Wilkinson Cameras a year or so ago, whilst it was on offer - saved approx £55. Have a look at their website, also have a look at WEX as they have some offers on at the moment on Manfrotto / Giottos tripods...

You're going to want something that's stable. Those cheap tripods like the one in your first link probably doesn't fit the bill. As said above, fix a maximum budget inc. head and go for the best you can get for that amount. If you're into landscape, do you expect to be carrying the tripod for long periods of time? If so, weight then becomes an issue. The general rule is you can only have 2 out of 3 of the following: Cheap / Stable / Lightweight. For £300 you will be able to get something decent.

Not heard or read anything that good about the Jessops Major apart from the price

Too easy to buy one or more unsuitable tripods before getting something that does the job

No point me trying to list a range of tripods, usual suspects are often mentioned on here so a search would no doubt bring up a plethora of suggestions

One thing to rememember is no matter how good the tripod it is so easily rendered useless without a solid head that holds the camera steady.
 
There are loads of options here via Manfratto, RedSnapper, etc etc

I'd advise spending at least £100 if not a touch more & buy once & buy properly. I have a RedSnapper 4-section legs & ball head & was about £120 at the time. Holds a 5D2 & 17-40L or 135L plus filters no issues.
 
I have a older Velbon Sherpa bought from Jessops many moons ago and a Manfrotto, The manfrotto I use most of the time, Nikon D300 with 18 to 200 vr2 lens, and Bronica SQA film camera with 50mm, 80mm and 150mm lenses.
