Tripod head for pro SLR

Hi any suggestions for suitable tripod head to hold a Nikon D3/4, preferably ball head. Thanks

Depends on what lenses you will be using with it. What tripod will you be using it on?

Generally speaking, Really Right Stuff, Kirk, Acratech, Markins are amongst the leading ball head makers

You need to work out you maximum weight of body and lens combo, and then just check that against any of the well know manufacturers. As listed above or if you don't want to spend so much look at Gitzo or Manfrotto.

I've just sold a Photo Clam - rubbish name but very high quality ball-heads. Well regarded in the US (where I got mine) and you can find them on eBay.

Thabks for the response so far. It'll be mainly wide lenses but may also a 70-200mm sometimes as well.

I sometimes use a Manfrotto 498 RC2 Ballhead with Canon 1D body + 70-200 or 100-400 lenses.

It won't break the bank and will take an 8 KG load.
