Tromso - winter itinerary

Hi Guys,

I am planning a trip to Tromso this winter (Feb/March). I was wondering if someone has an itinerary that would give me an idea of what to do (well this is easy .. take logs of pictures!!), where to go, what to pack, where to stay etc. I am hoping to catch a glimpse of the Aurora ...

There are a number of touring companies out there but very expensive especially for a single person, I wouldn't know which one to trust anyway. Thinking it might be a bit of an adventure going there by myself and exploring the area.

I have about 8 days for the trip, I am thinking Tromso to Kirkenes might be pushing it a bit?

I stayed in Gryllefjord on Senja for a week, but sadly before I was into photography properly. The most amazing place in the world!
I spent all my time climbing the mountains looking for a crashed WW2 aircraft.

I'd definetely reccomened trying to get there, its not that far (in Norway terms) from Tromso, and some spectacular mountain passes on the way.

I also spent some time in Bodo, but there wasnt a lot there apart from the aircraft museum.

Sadly didnt go further North than Tromso, so cant help there.
