Trouble Activating Shutter on 350D

I was out about an hour ago merrily taking some frosty shots over Temple Newsam in Leeds when my shutter button stopped working. Is this a low temperature problem? I'm back home now and although the camera still feels cold it's working a bit better. I've still got to press down quite hard to take a shot though.

It's only had 2000 actuations.

If it is that is it an easy fix for someone handy?

Thanks, that does sound like it could be it. :)

Actually, now it's warmed up it's working absolutely fine again. :bonk:

have a look at the exif ... some cameras put the temperature in there

canon rate the 350D like so...

Operating Environment: 0 – 40 °C, 85% or less humidity

so may well be temperature related..

edit - although saying that canon dont seem to rate any of their camera below 0c. however my 20D was out in the minuses last year and didnt have any issues..

Thanks, Neil. I'll keep an eye on it over the weekend as it's going to be blinkin' cold again and I've some togging planned. If I'd remembered to take my shutter release cable with me out of the car I'd probably never have noticed.
