Trouble with Itunes

Not sure where to shove this thread so feel free to move mods :)

I'm setting up a new laptop, and trying to download Itunes. However I'm really struggling to do so. The Apple website itself seems slow, and then when I click to download the new 10.1.1 version it carries through so I can then hit 'run'. However after that it just almost freezes up! I know its cold outside but surely it shouldn't effect me downloading stuff? ;)

For example, I just left it for the last hour, when I left it, it would take 22hours and 20 minutes, after the hour it read the same, plus in that hour it had only download 109kb of the 72mb!

I'm running windows 7 - however the new download mentions something about 64bit? of which I have completely no idea on what the hell that is!


Any help please? :help:

I might be reading you wrong, but don't click 'run' when it tries to download, click 'save,' then run the file from the location that it's been saved to once the download has finished! (if it ever finishes) :D

Ah is that where I'm going wrong... two seconds and I'll go and try...

shouldnt really matter to be honest, when clicking RUN technically youre still downloading the file before its executed.
 
Nope, no difference....

what is the 64bit part all about? with windows 7 am i running 64bit?
 
Right-click 'My Computer' on the desktop and click 'Properties.' It'll tell you if you have 32 or 64bit there under 'system type.' It shouldn't make any difference though....

Edit: Neil must be refreshing this page constantly... :D

Seeing the reply, i just had a look again at the website and Its going!!

Only going to take ten minutes!
