Yes
I went for a stroll down the Clyde Walkway with one of my mates today. We saw what we thought was a Heron, but was then advised by a dog walker that it was not a Heron but a seabird that's not often seen in these parts.

I was too busy trying to get a shot of it to catch the name, think it was a Manx something!

Not the best quality image, we were quite a distance away and the Tamron was fully zoomed out at 300mm.

It looked and stood like a Heron, but swam differently, any information on IDing it would be greatly appreciated.

Well the bird in the pic is a Shag.
Not a manx shearwater or anything else :)

Thanks for the info, was definitely a Cormorant or a Shag. What I think we also spotted, but never managed to photograph was the Manx Shearwater.

We seen what looked like a Manx Shearwater (thanks to the RSPB website for the illustration) flying then landing and going under for a good few seconds then reappearing. That would fit with what the lady walking her dog was telling us!

100% Cormorant. Not uncommon.

I'll go with Cormorant. The end of the bill/beak will be hooked.

Shag is slightly smaller, with an upturned crest in the breeding season.
