I'd opt for a 2nd hand Sony a580 a cracking camera with all you'll ever need
Ive had both the a700 and a580 and my money is on the a580 it copes better at higher ISO than the a700 too Matt
or save up and buy an a65

I never even noticed the A700 had DoF preview, will take a look now when I get home!
My excuse is that it is my wife's camera but I thought I knew it inside out...
it will do but it's also still one of the best for IQ at low ISO.Hi,
I am looking to upgrade from my Sony A100. I feel this camera limits me some what in terms of ISO/noise.

How high ISO-wise do you want to go??
What do you shoot?
It's the button that's hidden on the bottom right of the lens mount (IE grip side).
I have both an A580 & A700 plus an A200 (same CCD as A100).I shoot everything and anything at the minute but I find at an ISO of 800 plus sometimes even 400 it struggles with noise,
