Hi all u togs you've prob been asked this before im thinking about getting a 40d or a 5d if i can save a few more pennys, was wondering if i got a sigma50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG HSM would i loose the cameras af.If not would it still be ok with a x1.4 converter or even a x2 converter.
 
A quick look at the tele converter compatability chart says you'll be only able to manually focus the 50-500 on either body with either converter.
 
Cheers for that, would the af work without the convertors but just the lens, also where did u find the chart u looked at? I have a samsung gx1l at the moment was wondering if that lens would af with my camera before i upgrade?:shrug:
 
the lens mounts are specific to a manufacturer, I'd seriously doubt a Canon fit lens will fit your Samsung......but as i've never used or seen a samsung gx1l......i'm not going to rule anything out :D

Without the TC in place, a Canon body with the 50-500 will AF as intended.
