Upgrading my gear

Hi all, just looking little advice about what i should do with my camera gear.
Im currently using 60d with a 17-55mm is f2.8, its a good capable setup but im finding myself in rain too much to use it, its not a properly weather sealed camera. Also the 17-55mm is too restrictive for me on the wide end, I defiantly need an ultra wide. Im always shooting cars, just feature shoots for local website, never take much pictures of motorsport though, just mainly static shoots. Always using off camera flash for these shoots too.

I was thinking about a 5d ii but for me its too much money to have in one body, and if i did buy one id only be able to afford a 17-40mm L and not much else.

I could get a 7d, bonus points are excellent weather sealing, but stuck to crop lenses really, i could go for a sigma 10-20mm and then id have money for a main flash light to go along with my 430ex and yn460, (was thinking about a interfit 300w head and battery kit from wex)

The other option is to get a 5d classic with a 17-40mm F4L, dont know too much about the weather sealing but the iq is better than the 7d. And the same again with the extra flash.

What would be the best option? Thanks

If you want weather sealed the 1D series have the best weather sealing. However, like the 5D you would need to buy a wide angle lens, the 17-40 works great on both FF & 1.3x crop.

Or the other option is to buy a rain cover for your camera.

Yea was thinking bout a used 1ds iii, but still alot of money for a body.

Buy a rain cover and spend the rest on good glass!

A used 1ds3 will set you back about a £1000 or so more than a 5d2. Nothing beats the weather sealing of the 1 series but then the lenses need to be sealed too, not all L's are.

Best bet is to get a good raincover
