Ironville in Derbyshire, England, was built about 1830 by the Butterley Company as a "model village" to house its workers. It is situated between Riddings and Codnor Park. Today it looks like this:-

Lighting was quite flat despite the colours of the graffiti a heavy air of depression sits over the village which lent itself to monochrome. Any C & C welcome.

Many thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Mmm....it has a depressing air about it. Very rundown...however the camera has caught that and the effect is obvious. Really good photos and I am surprised there are still places like that.

Number 1 really does give a feelling of despair. I like the fact no persons can be seen. Even the locals want to stay away !

Our son lives nearby in Codnor Park which is a nice area.

One Sunday after visiting him I decided that we would come home a different way.

We got into Ironville and decided we were going the wrong way, so turned around in the area of the photos which felt very intimitating.
