My 14 year old son took this photo on our D60 with 70-300 vr at full zoom.
He has been waiting for it to turn up, as he noticed a kingfisher egg in the pipe on the wall. Bird is a little small in frame but I think the image shows another side to this bird, (living in an urban environment, not like the normal way we see this bird).

Strange - when was the pic taken?
Rather late in the year for eggs to be about.
 
There's one living in the exact same type of location near Clare College in Cambridge (near the bridge Cambridge Uni fans). If I didn't know better I'd say this was there - is it?
 
The pic was taken last saturday 14th. the location is Orpington, Kent.
 
That's a cool shot of a KF in unusual surroundings. (y)
