Please help. Is there anyway, my Canon 50D will pick up the bowens flash I am using without a sync lead or a transmitter?

canon pop ups don't have manual modes

the 430ex will work though, point it back wards and set it to manual min power (or use it as on axis fill facing forwards with a specific setting)

only other option is the pc port and begging for a cable
