Hi, I bought a Meike MB-D10 D10 Power Battery Grip in October last year and used it until now with no problems.

While removing it the locking mechanism just turns both ways and does not come off.

Any ideas to fix this would be appreciated...I'm off to Finland on Saturday and really need to fix it, or at least get it off without damaging my camera.

I don't think I'll have time to get a replacement by Friday unless someone knows of a UK seller.

Any help would be appreciated...as getting a little panicky here...:(

Try pulling down on the looking mechanism with significant force and turning it slowly. It sounds as thought it is slipping. If it once starts to turn you should be able to remove it.
 
You will have to destroy the grip to remove it. Chances are the teeth on the smaller gear have become damaged.

Canon grips went through a spell of having the same problem.

Sounds like you overtightened it whn you fitted it.

Thanks..think you're right. I possibly do overtighten it...fear of it coming loose.

I'll have a go at getting it off tonight.

You just do the wheel up snug, you dont need to crank on it. After youve shot a few pictures just recheck it.
