i have taken some pictures from my last year NYC trip and would be glad to have some advices for improvements

looking to improve the framing and the back and white effect on the pictures

a newbie question: how do we shot the pictures in the post?

use the tab in the bos that looks like a postcard picture this will popup a box to copy and paste your link into and hey presto the pic shows !
 
Just copy the 'Direct' link from the Imageshack page, and then click the insert image button when you are writing your post and paste the 'Direct' link in the box that appears.

As for the photos I like the second one because the man has an almost mysterious look to him. The first one needs some work on the composition I think. I would crop it to remove the building on the left, and would have waited for the Mini to drive out of the frame. The traffic light is also very distracting, so get practising your cloning skills! Great exposure and colour processing though.

i like the second one for the composition too, but the first one is giving a very good result once printed, much impressive than the first.

for the first one framing, i wanted to have the american flag and actually shot
while the mini started to be out of range (i wanted the car to be in the picture).
i should have taken several shot of this point of view.
