using the HDMI port on my gfx card?

I have an ATI 5700, im using the two DVI ports for my monitors but I want to use the HDMI port for a projector.

Nothing much happens when I plug the HDMI cable in.

Assuming Windows 7, what does right click->Resolution on the desktop show you in terms of available monitors. It may be that it isn't enabled. Certainly the ATI page says the 57x0 can drive 3 displays....

If not Win 7, which OS are you using?

im on windows 7 64bit.

It doesnt seem to detect a 3rd.

Got another piece of equipment with HDMI on to try? Could be that the HDMI handshake isn't well behaved.
